The Escape Publication Steering Committee is pleased to announce our Call for Papers:


Big data has the potential to disrupt the status quo and transform entire industries. Part exposition, part data boot camp, The Escape: Learning By Doing is a departure from traditional big data conferences. The event provides a stimulating forum where students, faculty, industry experts, and solution providers can dissect and solve big data problems using the latest storage, processing, data mining, visualization, cloud computing, and predictive modeling technologies.

This year, the Publication Steering Committee is inviting original papers for presentation and publication in the conference proceedings which showcase innovative applications of big data technologies like the following:

  • Predictive Analytics Applications
  • Real-time analytics with Big Data Technologies
  • NoSQL technologies – mongoDB, Cassandra
  • Large Scale Big Data implementations
  • Big Data Architecture and Governance
  • Big data application for Social Cause
  • Application of Big Data and Data Science to world of Politics
  • Internet of Things applications
  • Big Data applications in Government
  • Best practices in handling sensitive Big Data
  • Use cases of Columnar Databases
  • Applications of Big Data in Healthcare
  • Big Data Ecosystem with Hadoop
  • Integration of Big Data technologies with traditional technologies


Papers should focus on uses of big data technologies that solve real-world problems for individuals, business, government, or non-profit organizations. Outcomes should be stated in terms of the value or benefits generated, such as improvements to decision-making quality, product innovation, operational efficiency, and risk management. (Note: Submissions may later be expanded upon and used toward master’s thesis work.)

Submission Guidelines

  • Full papers only (Abstracts are not acceptable)
  • Authors must submit their work in Word format via email to
  • Papers must conform to APA 6th Edition style guidelines
  • The paper must include the author’s name
  • All papers will be reviewed by a minimum of two experts and authors must comply with reviewer feedback before final acceptance
