RMC Honors students greenmap Naperville Riverwalk

By Shannon Wittwer
Dupage Campus Writer

Under the watchful and inventive tutelage of full time English professor, Gerard Wozek, Robert Morris College DuPage Honors students were encouraged to explore the connection between literature, art and nature with jaunts to the serene Naperville Riverwalk during their Summer 1, English 232 course. In the heart of bustling DuPage County lies the tranquil 75 acre, fourmile long Riverwalk, its humble origins dating back to an acre and a half beginning in the early 1980's, built and dedicated to celebrate the city of Naperville’s Sesquicentennial.

Sex and the City, film and cultural event

By Nina Gacsko
Orland Park Staff Writer

They’re back! Four years after the final show of the series aired, the favorite television series on HBO has returned in the form of a movie that came to theatres nationwide May 30, 2008. New Line Cinema presents the movie Sex and the City , bringing back the four strongwilled females of Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte in the romantic comedy cinema. Just what was going to happen and how it would end was the secret that was kept quiet until the movie was finally released. A secret that was so big that they premiered the movie to an audience on the Oprah show in the beginning of May, and they cut off the movie before the ending could be revealed. Movie premieres had been going on through the entire month of May, and even went global in events such as the premiere on May 12, 2008 in London, just two weeks before the big debut that took place at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Tuesday May 27, 2008.

However, it was an exciting experience. After attending a number of graduations as a student, I got the chance to see it from the teacher’s perspective. And with my prior experience, I finally had the common sense to appreciate the moment going into the event.

Eat like an Islander at Borinquen

By Matt Kirouac
Editor-in-Chief

From the exterior, Borinquen is almost unnoticeable and entirely too easy to miss at its two popular neighborhood locations. As you pass through the doors and wind your way to a table, Borinquen begins to paint a picture of a true island getaway. Judging by the movies I have seen and pamphlets advertising Puerto Rico as a tropical paradise, it certainly felt like this restaurant hit the nail on the head. The menu language, the wait staff, the interior design reminiscent of a cabana beach house and the spread of stuffyour- face food all contribute to an experience that will whisk you away for a brief jaunt to sunny Puerto Rico.
