Atkins had his heyday, South Beach came with the promise to transform the body into its namesake clientele and the Zone was as popular as a swank nightclub. Perhaps no fad diet, however, has garnered such attention and controversy in the world of weight loss as the “Master Cleanse.” Although author Peter Glickman first wrote about the Cleanse several years ago, it only recently became popular. Thanks largely in part to Hollywood culture and endorsements from the likes of Beyonce and Angelina Jolie, the Cleanse is the new hot diet. |
