Chris Parker, a senior in high school gets her anniversary dinner canceled by boyfriend Mike Toddwell. As if that was not bad enough, Chris’s mom then asks if she can babysit for a friend since she is no longer going out. Not long after the parents of Brad and Sara Anderson leave, Chris gets a call from her best friend Brenda. Brenda got in a huge fight with her parents and attempted to run away. Now, she is stuck in Chicago with no money, and no way of getting home. After some convincing, Chris decides she has to go get Brenda. As Chris and the two kids go to get in the car, Brad’s best friend Daryl threatens to tell about their little journey to the big city unless he can come along. Three high schoolers and a little girl have to take on the city and all of the crazy things that happen to them, and be home before Andersons get there.
