Ask Athena

Athena is the Greek goddess of war, wisdom, justice, skill, industry, and the arts.

Because of this she is the perfect person to ask about those quandaries in your head.

Dear Athena,

I like this girl I met a few weeks ago a lot. Things seemed great, but recently things between us came to a stand still for no apparent reason. She has pretty much stopped calling and texting me, and we don’t talk like we used to. Should I take this as a sign and move on? Or should I keep on trying? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Dazed & Confused

Dear Dazed & Confused,

It is important that you sit down and sort your feelings out with this girl. The key to any relationship is communication, and without talking to her, you may ruin a great opportunity for a happy relationship. Yes, it’s possible that she is no longer interested in you, but you have to remember that in the first few weeks of forming a relationship, there are all types of issues to be ironed out. It’s common not to know how often to call the other person, how many times a week you two should spend time together, or even if you are going to be the type of couple who walks down the street holding hands. If you have been calling her less because she has been calling you less, did you ever think that she might be taking you not calling her the same way that you are taking her not calling you? That’s why it’s best to sit down and talk to her. Just simply ask if she is interested or not. If she says she isn’t, then you can know for sure and move on without pondering the “what ifs.” If she is still interested, tell her why you had to ask. Chances are she feels the same way. So go make your phone call! I wish you the best of luck.

Sincerely,
Athena
