Over the past few years, gasoline prices around the nation have gone up considerably due to our consumption rate and OPEC’s stiff export rate. Since then, Americans have been paying at least $4.00 per gallon. The U.S. has been long overdue for these prices, as Americans have enjoyed cheap gasoline for the past 20 years. In comparison to other nations, the U.S. is one of the top consumers of oil and has one of the cheapest prices per barrel.
Even so, these oil prices have affected our economy and our lifestyle. Newer and more technically equipped cars are being released with more fuel-efficient engines. Even the gasoline has been changed to consume less oil and more ethanol. In the workings are other alternative engines. However, until alternatives become permanent, there are a few ways in which people can still enjoy their gasoline fueled automobiles and still be fuel efficient.
