Major League Baseball’s
All-Star game is upon us and
I couldn’t be less excited.
Several years ago, after
MLB’s All-Star game ended
in an embarrassing tie, baseball
commissioner Bud Selig
and the league’s owners
decided to alter the “midsummer
classic” by awarding
home-field advantage in the
World Series to the winning
team. The thought was that
the stakes would put some
meaning into an otherwise
meaningless exhibition
game.
